This little hitch cord is the ultimate tool for working with skinny ropes. Vectran is a high-tenacity fiber with a coeficient of friction similar to polyester, but it is much stronger and a bit more heat-resistant. As compared to the Polyester Micro-Hitch cord these ones are stronger and will put up with harsher friction-hitch jobs (such as catching falls and sliding on the rope.) The construction means that they are a bit less grippy. These are quite light, weighing from 11-14 grams.
End-to-end strength is 11kn. Some will consider them multi-use as draws and for other rigging purposes. Lengths available are 40-60cm (16-24 inches.) This construction, just like the technora hitch cord, means a shorter cord can do the same job, these would be sized a couple of inches shorter than the polyester Micro Hitch Cord. The shortest would be a dedicated tool for 6mm ropes, the longer ones give more versatility for various techniques and larger ropes. The one shown is 45cm long, and the yellow rope it is tied on is 6mm, the orange rope is 8.4mm.
