Thhis is an advanced tool for a serious user. Technora is capable of handling a lot of heat and is extremely strong. It allows hitch cords to serve as the primary friction device to belay or rappell, and lets your hitch cord serve as a very strong runner for other jobs. Technora is not compatible with the SnakeSplice, but this material is soft and supple enough to work quite well when made with a locked deep-bury splice. This means the cord is larger diameter close to they ends, and skinnier in the middle. I have had no problem holding body weight on a 6mm rope with a 6 ove 1 swabish.
 
Be sure to read the relevant portion of the FAQ about technora vs. polyster for friction hitches so that you unerdstand the wear issues with these cords. Note that with this type of splice, the cords can be a bit shorter while still doing the same job, because you can tie hitches right up to the eyes. This is like having another 3''/7.5cm of cord. This can make for more efficient progress capture when using a pulley between the legs. 
 
Minumum length is 20''51cm, maximum is 32''/81cm. The one pictured is 25 inches, and it weighs 21grams. The green rope that it is tied onto is a 9mm, and the yellow rope is a 6mm. End to end strenght is 20kn. Black is the only color.
